Remember the COVID years when the only place we could go was the supermarket? Not one to let a pandemic keep her down, Alexia turned shopping for household essentials into a creative endeavour. Domesticamp is based on shower curtains, table cloths and bathmats – everyday domestic items she found in shops and street markets. With a penchant for kitsch, Alexia repurposed these materials into beautiful clothing with a dash of humour. The finished pieces were photographed in the home of Lina Bo Bardi – herself a lover of kitsch – as a play on 1950s domestic bliss (or blues!).
